We have had the good fortune over the past couple of years to be able to visit, experience and absorb some of the richness of Mexico. San Miguel de Allende is located about 200 miles northwest of Mexico City, in the western Sierra Madres. It is a colonial town with many of the 15th and 16th buildings still intact. It is also a mecca for artists from all over the world. Why? The high altitude (6300 feet) allows for a light clarity that is rare. And the Mexican penchant for vivid colors is irresistible. Add to that the natural beauty of the place and the lively style of Mexican life, and an artist can truly feel that he or she has died and gone to heaven. All you need is your right brain and stuff to paint with and the rest seems to take care of itself. I hope you can enjoy this work.
